The Trust is registered as The Layton Memorial and Museum Trust, charity number 801711.
Our charitable objects are as follows:
- the promotion of the education of the public in the objects of natural history, archaeology and science by the public exhibition of a collection of objects, specimens, books and prints of antiquity, natural history, art, archaeology and science, and
- the extension, enhancement, conservation and maintenance of the said collection

The team working on the Layton’s Library project is:
Frances Ames-Lewis, Virginia Bruno, Carolyn Friston, Adam Grounds, Janet McNamara, Catherine McDonnell and Isabel Monasch and the project co-ordinator is Sarah Hutton.
A small team supported the HLF-funded Layton’s Legacy project: Val Bott, Stephen Browne, Sally-Ann Coxon, Paul Fitzmaurice, Christine Hayek, Jennifer Hunt, Janet McNamara. The project was managed first by Mike Galer and subsequently by Hazel Dakers.
